The Law Offices of James H. Sandman, P.C.

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Attorney James H. Sandman.  Jim’s memory, commitment to his clients and his impact on the Law Offices of James H. Sandman (the “Firm”) will carry with us into the future.

Michael Akashian, practicing since 1983 and who is licensed and in good standing with the Bar of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as well as Vice President of the Firm, together with paralegal Seth Schulman, will continue to be available to clients for consultation and service during this time of transition.

However, under the law, you have a choice.  You may stay with the Firm, or you can decide to retain other counsel, or take possession of your file.  This decision is solely yours.  If you would like your file returned to you or forwarded to other counsel, please provide written notice to the Firm with the contact information, including the address, of where the file should be sent.  If the Firm does not receive a written notice from you to the contrary within ninety (90) days from the date you receive this letter, your consent to your continued representation by Attorney Akashian on behalf of the Firm until further notice shall be presumed.  The contingent fee agreements of the Firm shall remain the same until further notice.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Attorney Akashian at 978-465-9900.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Beginning with my admission to the Massachusetts Bar in 1973, I have dedicated my practice to representing injured workers and disabled claimants in worker's compensation and social security disability matters.

In the Event of an Injury or Disability Your Actions are Important !

If you are thinking about filing a worker's compensation claim or if your worker's compensation insurance company has requested that your benefits be reduced or terminated, remember:

> Don't discuss your case with anyone but your lawyer.

> If you are receiving total disability benefits, it is against the law to be working and earning a wage, salary or commission.

> If the insurance company asks you to complete an employee earnings report, it is considered fraud to fail to disclose earnings of any type. This may be the right moment to discuss your claim with an experienced attorney.

If you have questions about Worker's Compensation, Social Security Disability or Accidental Disability Retirement issues, please call me at 978-465-9900 or email my office at to schedule a no-obligation consultation.
